nesting as part of their SE spamming detection process. That has no
relation to code validation, though.
The three majors have included a request for validation at one time or
another in their guidelines. Sort of, anyway, as one of them asked for
well-formed html. I'm under the impression that they used the language
wrong as if it's well-formed it can't actually be html.
