Default Update to 'Critique of work in progress' - 05-31-2004 , 11:40 AM

Thanks to all those that replied originally (in alt.html.critique).

I have put some more effort in and hopefully this one:

http://smallwww.net/test2/index.htm

is better than

http://smallwww.net/test1/index.htm

But only you good people can say for sure!

Thanks in advance,
John.

The second one gives a 404, so yes, first one is definitely
better ;-)

I love that background!

It does not belong on your site, however.

Please do try the book that I mentioned before. It is extremely important
that you get a better handle on the use of fonts - you are only holding
yourself back by ignoring it.

Apologies, the second address should have been:
http://smallwww.net/test/index.htm

Cheers,
John.

What book is that doormouse?

I do think this is better than the last. However, I still think you have a
ways to go before you can claim to be the professional developer compared to
all those others.

Good steps....keep going!

The person that put together this site is clearly NOT a designer; however,
this small detail does not stop him in offering web design to others for a
fee.

This is a venture that's destined to fail.

You've been warned.

It looks OK and sounds OK; the mark-up also seems OK; seems to be a very
'accessible' site.

There's some typos that need to be sorted out. Examples:

consult.htm: [i.e.] --> [e.g.]
testing.htm [WIA] --> [WAI]

It's always better to get someone else to look for them ;-)

You have a number of items marked up as <ACRONYM></ACRONYM>. Although
they generate a tool-tip in IE, the characteristic 'dotted-underline' is
missing in IE. You may want to expressly style the underline in your
CSS.

regards.
