It's very clean, but doesn't make the best use of white space or layout.
Great start, but needs work.

- and I'm not just saying that because you might throw my butt onto the
mat, either - heehee -

I suggest a vertical axis as a base for the menu and text. Imagine an
invisible line running down the right side of the blue menu bar. Try
working off that line instead of the left and right margins.

Splendid work under the hood - with the possible exception of specifying a
font size of 90% and the contrast in the menu.

The pages need a little something in graphic browsers - a logo maybe or a
more imposing <h1> perhaps, I'd better leave that to others more
skilled/qualified.

Why don't you put all the 'Diary' page information on the 'Home' page.
It'll be more informative. It'll fill out the 'Home' page and the user
doesn't require to use so many clicks.

Farlo - your PC clock is incorrect.

That's how you manage to post messages after other people, but seemingly
before them :~)

1. Nav items should not hug the left margin?
2. On you contact page, you need to make your fields "required"
3. Very uninterestingly sparse site - just like my comments :-)

Artist, the good little Microsoft drone heard "Giles Chamberlin"

The navigation could use some padding, and maybe label it as navigation. I
would 'constrain' the body text a bit so that it does not run up against
the side of the page, and possibly use a header there. Good start.

I suggest not setting min-width for the body. I use a larger than
"average" text size and a window size usually a tad less than 800px
wide. I got horizontal scrollbars, which should be totally unnecessary
here. I don't think max-width for body is necessarily a good thing,
either. If you are concerned with long lines of text, you might
consider using max-width just on paragraphs and list items. 40-50em is
usually a pretty good limit.

I'm not especially fond of fixed positioning, been too many times I've
come across a fixed element that was too large for my canvas and part of
it became inaccessible.

Looks you are trying to use the right markup for the job. Kudos for
that. The site does need a masthead/logo, though...something to jazz it
up a little as well as brand it. Consider that someone coming here from
a search results could enter the site on the Kata page. There is
currently nothing there that mentions the club.
