I've done some major re-working of the navigation area, as that seemed to
be
the major problem with viewing correctly. Tried to make it less
complicated, and definitely worked on usability (is that a word?).
I've taken out the .72em font size and I've scrapped alot of the CSS that
was making the layout/menus all wacky. http://www.affordablehost.com/
Looking better? |
No.
You promised ages ago that you would not use font-size: some number of
pixels;
Font-size: .72em is far better, all I have to do us up *my* font size to
bring the calculated size back to 1.2em, which is what *I* prefer. When you
use pixels I have to exercise my accessibility options to ignore *all* of
your font size specification.
You have effectively made your site unreadable for those partially sighted
people who use a browser that refuses to resize such text (IE) and who don't
know how to totally defeat your font sizes. I'll bet that is a *lot* of
potential customers you are intentionally discriminating against.
Take out *ALL* references to font-size: and your site will present at the
size most comfortable to your viewer. If your layout falls apart (as it will
if you continue to use tables for layout) then it is your design that is at
fault, not your viewer for wanting bigger text.
What is that picture at the left? Your server rack? I can't make it out.
Some title text, or at the very least, some alt text (something better than
alt="") is, I think, advisable.
Cheers
Richard.
