Or better, a link explaining how the user can adjust the default font size
for their browser.
I've decided to do this for my site.

Here is a mock-up of the instructions:

Any ideas for improvement?

Nice one Toby!
On a slightly different note:
Calling font sizes with CSS -- px, em or % can result in a distorted
rendering of the original font.
....If you want a equivalent rendering of the old 10pt Arial setting (at
Medium font in IE), use 84% Arial
....Each of the windows standard fonts has its own 'best' setting to avoid
distortion.
ps/ please don't bother suggesting leaving font sizes up to the viewer :-)

The whole point of the page is about leaving font sizes up to the viewer.

The idea is that I as a page author leave the font sizes up to the viewer
and then add a link to the "how to change font sizes" page.

That's a good idea.

Perhaps a bit too technical but it is quite easy to convince Mozilla to use
Ctrl mousewheel to change font size. Then again if one wishes to change font
size it's better to make it as easy as possible.

Edit>preferences>advanced>mouse wheel. Fiddle with the modifier key
dropdown.

Cheers
Richard.

Something odd is hapenning here with my system (XP, IE6). When any of the
pages first display the text is in a radically different position to where
it eventually lives when the entire page downloads. It's akin to the old not
specifying image dimensions in a table based layout.

The problem does not happen on refresh or Ctrl refresh. It *does* happen
every time I move to a new page using the menu at the bottom.

Closer inspection reveals that the big screenshot image is the culprit. The
page appears to be layed out sequentially with a big space reserverd for the
image. Only on final render (after the image is down) does said image float
right. Odd :-)

Mozilla does not exhibit the problem.

Cheers
Richard.
