http://www.uniquestarenterprise.com/

Hello thank you for taking your time in reviewing this posting.

We would like a website review for this site. We are looking for
feedback, impressions, comments, suggestions for improvements, plus
whatever else that you might think would be good to enhance the
website.

We could use an analysis of welcome page. What you think it is, what
strikes you about it, and what you think you would click on first.

If you could, please describe your impressions of the site in terms of
our credibility.
In other words, do you trust us 100% as you join the club? What do you
think is missing to boost the credibility ?

Thanks for any help in this. I started this as a hobby, hope to hear
from you soon.

Mario

I'm guessing the site wasn't made by a professional website
designer/coder. It is unfortunately *very* apparent, and detracts from
the overall impression of professionalism of your business.

Your website a reflection of your business. For new customers, this is
the *only* image by which they can judge you - if this doesn't look
professional, neither do you.

If you want your business to develop much beyond a hobby, I recommend
you take a basic course in Graphic Design and HTML/CSS, or hire yourself
a professional. Either way, time or money needs to be invested into
boosting your image.

Hth,

You should eliminate the horizontal scrollbar - I
get one at 1032x748 pixels.
You should also specify width and height for all
images. I don't like it when the page jumps around
as it downloads.
When I click on the logo - Unique Star Enterprise
- or even the "Home" link, trying to get to the
home page, I get the message "Sorry, but there are
no products matching this criteria. Please try
again." That's frustrating.

I don't understand why you have a search function
only on the Favorites/Link Exchange page. You
should have a search engine that searches all your
products, and only them, for instance linked from
the top or in the menu on the left. And is this a
shop, or a club, or both?

I've never understood the purpose of some of the
more elaborate candles... It seems to me a shame
to set Winnie the Pooh and Donald Duck on fire...
But that's just me. The Soda Pop Candles - are
they safe? Sure they won't explode? Maybe add a
note about that for the cautious costumer? I
discovered the Candle-Safety.Org banner that
states that Aromalight Candle Co. Inc. is checked,
but are you Aromalight Candle Co. Inc.? (The
Candle-Safety.Org site is really bad, so they
don't make me feel any safer, anyway.)

The shopping cart system seems to work even with
Javascript disabled - that's impressive.

At first I didn't notice the "slideshow" on the
front page. But now I opened the page with
Javascript enabled. It leaps unsteadily away and
slows down my system a lot. That's really
annoying! I'd advice you to get rid of it.

And another annoying feature, that's partly my
fault, but still, others may have the same
settings: I have set my browser to never open
links in new windows. When I click on one of your
products, it's meant to open in a new window, but
here it opens in the same window. When I have
Javascript disabled (like I usually have), nothing
happens when I click "Close Window", and I just
use the "Back" button to go back. But if I enable
Javascript and accidentally click "Close Window",
your site disappears! Maybe you'd like to
reconsider the use of target=_blank?

Quite, quite hideous. It's ugly, badly done, dog-slow, the domain name
is unmemorable and the images are unviewable. Almost everything that
could have been done badly, has been.

Find a web developer (a real one) and have them rework it from the
ground up.
