Please critique my website

Hi everybody,

I've just put the final version of my website

Only immediate comments I have:
a. you've assigned no background color to body, hence I see my ugly
default purple.
b. new documents should use a Strict doctype, not Transitional.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my website. As for the
comments you made:
a. I've altered the stylesheet, the body now has a background color and a
default color for text. No more ugly purple for you
b. Indeed - my template still had a transitional doctype. I have now
switched to a strict doctype, and reuploaded the site after validating.
c. The errors came from the included code from advertisers, but I've
managed to get them fixed by now. The site should now validate just fine.
d. I know that there is a certain percentage of visitors who do not have
Javascript enabled - this will only affect ads. The site itself does not
(and never will) rely on Javascript for navigation or whatever other
purpose, so the site should function fine for everyone.

If you think about it, perhaps a not-so-stark white would reduce the
shock value. I use either #dfdfdf or mebbe #f5f5f5 as being a little
bit easier on the eyes, especially on a good, bright monitor.

Good advice - thanks. I've changed the stylesheet on my local version, but
I need to change the code for the ads as well, which means reuploading the
entire site.

I'm going to make the changes locally for now, so during the next update
(probably in the weekend or so) the changes will be online.
