Default how is it? - 03-17-2007 , 01:57 AM

Hey guys.

I am new to the site so hello everyone.

I have just placed my site online and was wondering if anyone would
like to review it.

It's colorful and funny (hopefully).
http://www.plobs.com I designed it from web developers
at
http://www.webdesigningcompany.net
I will be updating it regularly so the site is as yet not complete.

Would appreciate any feedback at all.

Thanks

"You are visitor number 152564!"

Wow! That's pretty good popularity for the first two hours of your
site's existence. Just think how many hits you'll have after a whole
day! Or week!!

Hmm, wait a minute; the counter doesn't seem to change when I refresh. I
don't think it's really working. Odd...

The site is diverting (for a while), but it doesn't hold me there. I
have the feeling I've seen everything to see after only ten minutes.
Sorry. Other folks may enjoy it more. The artwork has a South Park
simplicity to it (good for some, but I hate South Park :-) ). It is
certainly quite colorful and sometimes funny.

It looks pretty solid on the outside, although the HTML isn't very
special. I'm wondering how you maintain it when you have style classes
named .style193, .style16, .style17, etc. I also seem to be able to
register for the newsletter by entering any old crap (I used "Enter your
e-mail here" and "Erin go bragh!"); you should validate users' entries.

What is it about? The text is too small for me to read.

Nothing happens when I click on the pictures.

Hmmm: "You are visitor number Visitor Counter by Digits!"
The site is useless without Javascript and Flash.
Even with JS and Flash it is not possible to know what the site is about
just by looking at the first page. The obvious first question is "What are
Plobs?" I still don't know.
Why is there a Home link on the Home page?

Invalid HTML markup:
<http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.plobs.com%2F>
You should be using a HTML Strict DTD, not Transitional. (Well, given
the 1995 code style, maybe you are transitioning from HTML 3.2.)
The body text size is fixed at 14px, 87% of my preferred size. Other
sizes are even smaller.
Use of px for font sizes makes it impossible for IE users to increase
the font size to their comfort level.
No standard fallback font is given for any font-family property. Since I
do not have "Trebuchet MS", I get whatever serif font I have selected. Add
"sans-serif" to the font-family properties.

Hi.

I'd suggest doing some testing on a 56Kb dialup line. Not everyone has
broadband.
