Default geewizz by pvii ... anyone used it OR should I just learn it. - 06-15-2004 , 04:21 PM

For those of you that have used this or seen the product, for $30 it looks
like it could make something I could see myself using quite often much more
simple...or should I just learn HOW to do it?

Keep in mind I'm much more interested in the design aspects of web design
not the coding part.

thanks.

Well...not interested in the cleanest code or even how to code by hand is
not the same as not wanting a functional website. The point was really
simply to say that if I can find a more seamless way to translate print
skills (design, layout, readability) into web I'd like to do that...I posted
to critique because I wanted your feedback.

Then may I ask why you bothered posting your query to alt.html.critique?
Surely you should expect to get pounded here with reasons why this
geewizz thing is a pretty bad idea. It has serious usability and
accessibility problems, for sure. The P7 demo was a great example of its
flaws.

But then, those folks primarily interested in looks don't seem to care
about functionality at all, do they? I can see more "pretty" but
unusable sites coming my way now... <heavy sigh

Could you please point out exactly which usability and accessibility
problems you're talking about? I'm sending it over to the P VII NG; if there
are any flaws, be absolutely and completely sure they'll listen to
everything you've got to say. They strive to make good products, and their
assistance is the best in the business.

Help them to make better products everybody can use.

"Pretty" is in the eye of the beholder, they can't be measurable but with
subjective tems.

OTOH, "Unusable", "Non-Functional", are not. They're measurable by
"standards".

So, please, could you pinpoint what exactly are you talking about?

I'm sending this over to the P VII NG. It'll be a big help if some "issues"
can be resolved.
