Default Feedback Appreciated - 07-31-2006 , 07:57 AM

Hello,

I would really appreciate some feedback for my site
http://www.internetsecurity101.net, which has been up and running as
well as a work in progress for about six months. I am using Trellix
Site Builder to build my site. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris,

I would ditch trellix, its producing really outdated code. Investigate CSS
try http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp for good start.

Also while your there look into using css for layout instead of the circa
1995 tables.

Your images are horrible! have you re-sized the images in the html? that
would explain the jaggedness of them. ALWAYS resize your images in your
graphics programe, html does a shitty job of it.

Chris,

Dump all of those rotating and flashing GIF files. They brand you as a
total amateur and they become and irritation to the viewer. Your site takes
forever to load, so prep it with simple and clean CSS rather than using
Trellix. Go find a good starter template at http://www.oswd.org/ and then
modify it to your needs by simple changes to the color and navigation
schemes.

Push your text toward the top so that the important messages are above the
fold. Otherwise, your site will just get lost in the mass of crap found on
the search engines. You've got a good subject to work with, but unless you
show a professional face to it, your site will not be taken seriously.

Hello,

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I am going
to ditch Trellix and rebuild my web site. I was wondering if anyone
has used NVU? I was thinking of rebuilding my site using NVU. Thanks
again. Have a great day.

Hello again,

I have created a new very simple home page using NVU. Is this an
improvement over my old home page or is it too simple/basic? Thanks
again.
