Dear All

I'm afraid that design is not my strong point!
Have I overdone it with the colours or does this look OK?
http://www.ageconcernleics.com/newtemplate.html

Any suggestions/comments welcome

Thank you

It looks quite nice!
The colours are ok and even add some interest to the layout.

Now Graham --
try creating the same layout using CSS instead of tables!
.....don't try it on a "morning after" though, (not suggesting you have
"mornings after")

:-)

I like the overall look/feel of the site. I think you got a little carried
away with mouse overs. The page loads quickly on dial up and it is good to
have the text resizeable.

I agree that the mouseover effects draw attention to themselves and should
not, and I agree the overall effect of the site is quite nice. One thing I
would definitely do is make the text links the same size as the surrounding
text, not smaller.

I was advised that I should make the menu links really obvious my
using some sort of rollover effect. I'm not sure I understand what
you mean by 'draw attention to themselves' - how could it be done
differently?

Perhaps the menu items draw a bit too much attention in respect to the
content.
BTW, you can use CSS only instead of a mix of JS and CSS. Also no need to
use all those (nested) tables. Consider using div-boxes. Less coding and
easier in maintenance.

You have syntax errors that need to be fixed.

New documents should be HTML 4.01 Strict, not Transitional.

As pointed out previously, lists need to be marked up as lists, not table
cell items.
