Default CSS-Site Crit please - 02-12-2005 , 07:54 AM

Hi,

this is my first version for a pure CSS driven site (without using
layout tables).

Can you please have a look. I am interested if the pages can be viewed
with the regular browsers (not necessarily Netscape 4) and all
available systems (Mac, Linux, PDA etc).

So if you will find any problems with the page display, a screenshot
is very welcome.

You find it at:

<girn>It is pretty hard to understand</grin> - It looks good (excepting
the ads down the right side

The window resizes well down to 700 or so - probably all you need and
the text resizes even IE. Looks essentially the same in Netscape.

There is something funny going on in IE - from the header down to
PDF-Datei, the text has a much larger )left and right) margin than the
rest of the column - at larger text sizes.

Did you test it with varying font sizes?

No :-)

You should specify ems, not pixels, for the size of those left and right
boxes. That way they will adjust to the size of you viewers font.

<checks with IE>

You have also specified the font size in the right hand column in pixels.
This precludes IE users from changing their font size.

I don't understand what exactly that mean, do you have a screenshot?

Maybe it is better now. I adjusted the stylesheet a bit.

yes, but not enough ;-)

Now it should be better.

I have adjusted one of the margins to em. I think this should do the
trick.

I think I have specified all font sizes either in em or in %
Maybe it's the google ads that you mean, or did I overlook something
in my stylesheet?

Hi again,

meanwhile I have changed the CSS and cleaned up some of the problems.
Maybe somebody might care to have a fresh look at the page:

which is not white, shows up.
should be fixed now, thanks for the hint.
