Ooh yeah i have hotlink protection enabled so that people cant view
the images directly.

So there's your problem. Turn of http referer and you don't get
images. You are obviously blocking images from anyone whose referer
is not from those pages?

Aha! Precisely! Note in my screenshots that Firefox's "Send Referrer"
is not checked. Toggling that I see the images. Same for all my other
browsers, except IE where I don't bother. <lol
Fixed Now :-) Can you havea check your end please :-)

Referer can be turned on by purpose, or by firewall etc. might block
it etc. so you are creating issue with your hotlinking protection.
Instead, if there is need, consider blacklisting urls etc. aproach in
hotlink prevention instead of blocking all but certain referer, or
accept the fact that some people won't see images.

Last place I worked before retirement, the corporate firewall also
stripped the http_referer ...

Regarding hotlinked images, I've never found a foolproof way to enable
the blocking without causing other problems.

Oh well, mystery solved.

I would still want to un-justify the text on that meetus page, and
perhaps insert the graphics' spans a couple of lines into the text so
that it begins above the photos rather than beside it.
Un-Justified now, that look better? I quite like the text starting the same
as the images but i'll have a look at it your way sometime later today.

I get this same error 403 in Firefox, Opera, and in IE6

Ooh yeah i have hotlink protection enabled so that people cant view

Well, there's an explanation ... :-)

This is the meetus page, in Firefox:
http://k75s.home.att.net/show/hsnsg.jpg

It would appear that you have all images turned off on this page which
is why you dont see the peoples pictures? Am i right in thinking
this?

No. Look at the settings in the Firefox PrefBar. Images and Colors are
checked, meaning "show me". I can immediately go to another site and see
images.

Here is what I see in Opera 9.
http://k75s.home.att.net/show/hsnsg-opera.jpg

Also i noticed why my Arrow alt tags are a bit annoying now no
images are displayed so i will change them.

Right. For the first few seconds, I wondered why everyone's first name
was "Arrow"... (probably best to use: alt="" for the decorative
images)
Yeah i will change this when i get a chance. I need to change it on a lot
of pages so not a quick fix.

Maybe there is some conflict with my pipe to the www and your hotlink
protection. How about if you turn that off for awhile (let me know when)
to see if it is the cause.

I see the images only in IE, and no other browser, including Firefox,
SeaMonkey, Mozilla, Opera, and even OffByOne shows no images at all.

All seems to be well with the images.

Yes. With justified text, there are always extra gaps between
words that interrupt the flow of the eye. Like listening to a
stutterer.

I feel that wrapping the text around the image is .. warmer. More cuddly
feeling... not so stark. <g>

Yes, me too.

Overall, looks pretty good. I just did a quick perusal of several pages,
and the only thing that comes to mind is:

1. On the Home page, define "HSNSG" between "HSNSG Online" and "Our
aims" (shouldn't Aims be capitalized?). You need to let first-time
visitors know what you are without having to search around.

2. On the Acknowledgements page, I would position the praise to the
special needs volunteers ahead of the .. um .. webmaster. <g> It is
rare that a webmaster needs praise. A simple note at the end of the
page, "Site designed by:" should suffice.

That's all that pops up just now...

Tha acknowledgements page is for the website, not thte charity in general.
It was the trustees who decided on the acknowledgements page and they have
ultimate control over the content of the site although any design issues are
down to me.
