Thanks in advance.
There is virtually no content on the splash page. What is your most
important visitor going to get? It seems what you want to have the most
emphasis does not exist without the image, or with images turned off, or
if you're a search engine bot (your most important visitor).

Frankly, I would get rid of the splash page altogether, use a shorter
version of the header graphic that appears on subsequent pages, and put a
little bit about the Savannah annual readers poll on that first page.

I would also get rid of the fixed page size, that will negate the
background image that others have found distasteful.

Brandon,
Site needs some polishing graphic wise.

Blue wallpaper is too busy, takes away from the middle content

Your pixel widths are great.

You have more than 250 words per page, well done.

your links should pop up in Target=blank to keep people from leaving your
site permanetly

Repeat you links in text only at the bottom, a very good practice

have your logo top left click back to your home page

write a very good title and description for your home page.

That's it, i like it otherwise.
Maybe you can help me. I am just forming a new company www.300bucks.ca after
7 years with m7.ca. I need as many sites to link to 300bucks.ca as possible,
want to share links?

No! No! No!

I, as a user, should be the one to decide whether or not to open a new
window. I *curse* any site that tries to make that decision for me.

And what is so desperately wrong with a new window? I have a site with
pics of my last hiking trip , and it is set up so that clicking on a pic
will bring up a very small window showing a map of the area in which the
pic was taken. The user can then both look at the pic and the map at
the same time.

I don't see the problem with that. Or so there an acceptable
alternative way of getting the same effect?

Yours truly,
Ed

Rick is referring to target="_blank" which spans a completely new window,
not a very small javascript window.

The problem with opening new window using target="_blank" is that it breaks
the back button. I use mouse gestures and very rarely look up to see if
the back button is disabled, then I'm gesturing along and suddenly realize
I'm not going anywhere. Argh!

If you include target="_blank" attribute where you are using a js onclick,
the back button is still broken for users with js turned off.

Users should know that small windows pop-up or that links open in a new
window. Just a small bit of text will let them know that.
