I visited your site and all I could hear is:

............................................
hailesfrontpage
[www.hailesfamily.co.uk/home.html.] <--in a 'Link' voice
............................................

That doesn't tell me a lot. You need to get some alternative text into
your <IMG> tag so that I know what to do and what to expect.

If I was smart enough to figure that was some kind of introduction page
and take the link I then hear:

.............................................
[www.hailesfamily.co.uk/home.html.] <-- in a 'Link' from
here ..

[www.hailesfamily.co.uk/home.html#.] <-- ..... to here
Myself, Kristin and Kacey
wish you all the best for 2004.
PLEASE BE PATIENT
I changed computers a little while ago
and am now starting the update the site more often.
Check out the KACEY section for kind of updated pictures.
[play.com/.] <--

[www.uci.co.uk/.] <-- ditto
[imdb.com/.] <--

FREE delivery on all DVD's, Movies and Games
Film listings for Norwich UCI

.................................................. ....

2 problems:
(a) missing 'alt' text
(b) Linearization problems

Maybe I'll visit a bit more when you've fixed those problems .....

regards.

Quoth the raven named BlaKeY:

Grammar. What's that old rule? Each subject should stand on its own?

"Myself, Kristin and Kacey wish you all the best for 2004."

"Myself wish you all the best for 2004."

This part is exciting!
<td> <img SRC="images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=1></td>
<td> <img SRC="images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=116 HEIGHT=1></td>
<td> <img SRC="images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=425 HEIGHT=1></td>
<td> <img SRC="images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=118 HEIGHT=1></td>
<td> <img SRC="images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=70 HEIGHT=1></td>

Your <title> texts need work.
<title>haileshomepage</title> is inadequate.

Once off the home page, there seems to be no way back.

Now for the big, controversial, comment.

Drop the Verdana, and change your font sizes to percents.
Starting with body { font-size: 100%; }

Trust me. <g>

Ditch the splash page and make the following the homepage:

http://www.hailesfamily.co.uk/home.html

The only thing a splash page does is make the meat of the site an additional
click away, and this can be very annoying.

Oh, and another problem:

"Best viewed at 1024 x 768 using Internet Explorer 5.5 or above"

What about everyone else?

Best viewed at 1024 x 768 using Internet Explorer 5.5 or above..

Oh yeah? Well I don't use IE.Your sit should not really have the
option to be "worst viewed". Nobody does this best viewed thing any more.

Lose the splash page.

Your site in Mozilla at least changes width slightly between pages.

Text is too small.

What's all this then:-

<td> <img SRC="images/spacer.gif" WIDTH=1 HEIGHT=1></td>

Even if you were to do this, the values should be encased in quotes,
and if you ever aspire to XHTML, don't use WIDTH in caps. And you've
got no alt tags either.

"body BGCOLOR=#FFFFFF"

You can set this in the style sheet.

There are loads of tables in this site too. Stricly speaking,
tables in HTML are for diplaying tabulated data, not squeezing gifs
jpegs and text into. Most of your site has no tabulated data, so you
don't need the tables.

Regards

Michael

Doesn';t say anything. Just has your url and then it says enter. Why?
And I have to wonder if the sysop has ever read in this group before.
S/he should know already that "BEST VIEWED AT 1024 X 768 USING INTERNET
EXPLORER 5.5 OR ABOVE" will bring howls of derision. The site is
obviously intended for the internet, not a tightly controlled intranet.

So why specify a browsing environment if you already know what their
