Default Boarder - Text box - 10-21-2004 , 08:42 PM

A friend of mine has just finished creating a website for me -
http://www.continental-translations.com

You will notice in the website that next to the navigational menu on the
left, there is the main brown frame containing all the contents etc... What
I would ideally like, is for the frame to be exactly the same size on each
page so that when you go from one page to the next, the frame remains in the
same location.

Can anybody tell me how to go about this?

Cheers

If it is the height you would like to stay the same, the table with the
border needs to have a height specified such as height="400" and you may
need to check whether the vertical alignment of text is set for the top then
as well such as valign="top"

Yeah, sure, a 'friend'. Whenever anyone says 'a friend', they mean
themselves.

Some friend. With images disabled, this is your navigation.

Quite user-friendly, eh? Ask your friend to look up the alt attribute. In
fact, here's the link:

Ok, but if the content amount varies, it may need to be taller or shorter.
I'll assume you mean you want the top border and the two sides to remain
static.

You mean your friend, don't you?

Tell your friend to not center the content in the viewport - instead, use
the width of the user's viewport, and start at the top and let the height
work out to wherever it ought to be to fit the amount of content.
