Frames suck, and the images on http://dead-broke.com/main.html load very
slow because you *resize* them using width and height in HTML. BAD.

http://dead-broke.com/flyer_2004_5-28-brewery.jpg Object not found!

Let me decide if I want a new window. New windows break the back button.

http://johnbokma.com/websitedesign/ has some tips.

what about a warning.. that "flyer links open in a new browser window"
and a " links on this page open up in a new browser window" <-- on the
"links" page?

would this be more of the right direction for the new windows?
i really didnt like the way the site was working when it didn't open the
flyers in a new window...
and if someone was going to print a flyer.. that would be all that would get
printed.. ?

Kill the splash screen. It is a barrier to content.
Kill the frames - http://www.karlcore.com/articles/article.php?id=2
Don't resize the images with HTML. This causes very long download times. The
importance of this cannot be overstated. Some studies show that 60% of
people will abandon an online transaction if the pages download slowly. This
has been estimated to translate into $4 billion in lost e-commerce revenue
each year.
"Users will wait about 10 seconds for a page to load, sometimes 15
seconds, before they lose interest" - Usability.gov
There are a number of factors - other than just your site - that can
contribute to increased download times:

a.. Internet or network congestion
b.. Connection speed
c.. Other capabilities (or lack thereof) of the visitor's computer
This makes it all the more important to do your part to limit the size of
the page and therefore trim down the load times. 60% of users use a 56kbps
connection speed or slower. Considering the fact that actual connection
speeds are slower than the modem's capability, total page weight should be
no more than about 30 KB.

Looks fucking great ....

And yeah...I'm a little lost on the usual group saying "it doesn't validate'
etc....I understand about validation, but look, the site works on everything
that I've tested it on.
A couple of the comments about FRAMES...I agree..dump them mate. Don't
worry too much about "speed"...They'll soon catch up.

Cheers, nice one...

Glenn
(P.S. I'm busting for someone to tell me that one of my sites look
OK....None of mine validate 100% and my customers don't give a shit.)

Just because the client likes it does not mean it isn't shit.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes you have to do stupid things because the
client asks, but that is a completely different matter altogether.
Rule #1 - If the client knew WTF they were doing, they wouldn't hire someone
else to do it.
