amateur trying to do it right. please critique.

Though it still has some problems in some browsers, I would welcome any
criticism of this little website I'm maintaining for an aikido school.

I like the color/layout of both pages in general.

I do not like the fixed font sizes,
the horizontal scrolling (even at 1024w) in IE 6 (on the home page),
the little green borders around dates (like 30[th] )
little green borders around links in the body of the document.

The green is IMHO a good choice, I just do not like the overuse of the
borders.

I know this is a sensitive issue. I decided on fixed font because I
didn't want the menu items in the navigation window to span two lines.
Having fixed sized fonts and fixed width for the navigation window makes
sure every thing fits neatly on one line. It does have drawbacks
though...

That is a problem I need to fix, but I'm not sure how. It works fine in
Opera (linux and windows).

Oops. That was for debugging. There are no green boxes anywhere in the
finished version.
