Default an alternative to frames? - 06-11-2004 , 12:20 PM






i've been told i shouldn't use frames, for a variety of reasons.
ok. thats fine.

how else can i put a link or a button on a page that will control content
elsewhere on the same page?

You create a different page for each set of content and put shared content
(e.g. menus) on each. There are various tools which can save you work when
doing this: <http://www.allmyfaqs.com/faq.pl?Include_one_file_in_another>

thank you

it looks like time for me to learn more. your site does just what i want
mine to. i just thought frames was the easiest way to do it.

It only appears to happen with things that are empty. Mozilla is, of course,
quite OK.

That would be "Really can't be bothered to test in IE"

I'm replacing the backend at some stage in the not to distant future. I'll
alter the layout at the same time.
