Default After a complete re-vamp, its time for a Review. - 10-27-2003 , 07:09 AM

Lots has been changed.

No more roll-over graphic icon buttons
Java-script menu replaced with new Dynamic Menu
Tested in Netscape 7.1 and IE 6
Frameset reduced from 4 panes to just 2 (working towards no-frames)
Pages load with or without frames (deep linking is now allowed from SE)
Every page validates W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional

Comments ?

thanks Chef Blair

I like the overall effect - certainly makes me hungry. Do not like the
flashing thingies - very distracting.

Some of the pictures could be downsized to give us dial-ups a break.
The 4 pictures on the small tarts page for example range from 3931 bytes to
8511 although they are all the same size and apparent quality.

Try re-design rather than re-vamp!

Only a small number of people will ever look at your source code, so at
least get your site to look good!

....dump frames altogether
....dump the borders on your tables
....dump the various irrelevant images and buttons like you have for apache,
ipower web, USA flag etc
....dump the date modified script
....pick a "quality added" font instead of the twee one on your various
banner images
....most of your product pics need enhancement - PSP8 or the Extensis
Intellihanse plugin will do it quickly you
....those dynamic menus look bad
....Look at most cook books for a much better page layout than that you have
"designed out of your head"

Sorry, overlooked the URL in the sig :-(

Nice pictures, easy to navigate.
Orphaned pages (shown without menu) like
http://www.frenchpastrychef.com/pastry/buy/intro.shtml
This is what people see when a link is found in a SE.
Add a link to the frameset on every page or (better) replace the frames with
CSS-boxes and a little PHP.

Looks delicious!

Regards, Nico

Please do!

yes, and the whole idea with the tree structure. There are much nicer ideas
in both dhtml and css
Your color combo is not 'food-like' - Blue is not a food color to me anyway!

What is this?
Extensis Intellihanse plugin

Image editing programs use their own filters to make changes to images. You
may also buy plugins which you can use through
your image editor. The Extensis company produces such plugins, and
Intellihance is one of them. Read about it if you wish at
http://www.extensis.com/intellihancepro/
Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop6 or 7 have excellent built-in filters to improve
the quality of your scanned or digital photos so you wouldn't need
Intellihance unless you are a graphics professional
