What is the best cheapest way to accept Canadian credit card payments?

I am trying to accept credit card payments into my Canadian regular bank
account. (not a business account).
I have heard about moneris, paypal...

I would be OK with telephone authorization, or
even better: also have option to enter info into their web site so I can do
it while on the phone with a customer.

What works well and is not expensive?

I only have experience with PayPal. It is reliable and inexpensive.
The fee for payments in USD from a couple of countries in Europe was
3.5% + 0.40, IIRC (last time was the beginning of the year). I don't
think you can accept credit cards as cheaply as that.
