DNS is functioning (http://freewebdesign.cjb.cc = 72.29.65.4). Ping was
successful. Tracert was successful (the hop prior to your server timed
out every time, though). Server is clearly up and running, it just won’t
respond to my web browser’s request.

Once again, you get what you pay for.

Cheers.

FYI, the error is an “HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error”. In case you
didn’t know, this means the problem lies at the server’s end, not mine,
since this kind of an error can only be provided by the server.

BTW, I checked this problem out with Firefox and Opera on SUSe Linux,
OpenBSD, MacOS X 10.4 and Windows XP; IE7 (on Windows) and Safari (on
MacOS X). All had the same problem. I even tried it from different
networks (Shaw vs. Telus). No difference.

Free is as free does. Nice. Credibility comes from consistent
performance, and free services have no obligation to provide their users
with consistent performance. If you want credibility, you will have to
go to the root of the problem and acquire services that can perform
consistently.

Cheers.

I know this problem cause I sell hosting services among other things.
I can open this site (FireFox) without any problem so DNS was my first
thought

BTW I don't pay for Chaddy2222 hosting

salute

Thanks for takeing the time to check out this problem.
For the record, the clients who I have designed sites for have been
very pleased with the work. I provide a service to groups who would
otherwise not be able to have a website, as I said, people are quite
pleased with the outcome. After all, the web design service I provide
is not a full time job (I do this stuff mainly as a hobbie.
Oh and the site (freewebdesign.cjb.cc is hosted on a shared hosting
server in the U.S. That I have know control over.
Frankly, server management is NOT one of my main concerns. I have been
very happy with the service provided by the hosting provider. Oh and
the site is back online now for your information.
I do also do a lot of work to make sure that all the sites I do design
are standards compliant.
I hope that help to clear up some issues.
