Default Submission form with Frontpage extentions - 02-01-2005 , 11:59 AM

Need assistance with creating web form made out of Excel document in an
HTML format.

I am thinking of using FrontPage or FrontPage extensions to send a form
via the host email program.

The host I use is http://www.omnis.com which supports Frontpage
extensions and CGI scripting.

Also, if anybody has any idea of where I can buy a scripting package to
assist in this if it
is somewhat difficult I would really appreciate it. I am under a time
constraint so thanks in advanced for any reply.

Using FrontPage for anything (except maybe as a doorstop) is almost
certainly a bad idea.

You should use a server-side CGI script to receive form responses and
take appropriate action with them.

Yes. The HTML it produces isn't quite as bad as that produced by Word or
NetObjects Fusion, but it can be pretty grotesque. I have on occasion
tidied up the output of FrontPage; except in special cases it's easier
to throw it away and start again. One concrete example: a page which
took 30 seconds to display over a dial-up connection. As this was a
large table [1] I could do a lot to it with global edits. By pruning
away superfluous FP-generated rubbish I reduced the display time to
8 seconds, and the result looked better as well.

[1] Actually containing tabular data, in this case.
