Simulate web browsing

Well I've got this problem. I've got a site that has access via a
login page, then it shows a page that has links to other pages, but it
uses a cookie in order to store the information of the logged one and
show information relative to him in the other pages.

The problem is: I want to make a diferent front-end, it could be in
flash but I would like to develop a bot that asks for the login data
(username, password); and then it starts to browse the entire site
creating an xml tree that has all the information relative to the
person (the information showed in the links mentioned above)

I can separate the problem in:
1. Log in using POST request (that's no problem in flash, but could be
using another technology, I mean cgi or asp, or php, but i don't think
it's the real problem)

2.Store the cookie and access to all the links available like if i
were viewing the page in internet explorer. (so that the host gives me
access to all the pages and gives me the information related to my
login)

3.Create the XML Tree parsing all the information gotten in the point
above.
