Default Dabbing into flash - 08-04-2004 , 12:34 PM

I've been building a website for a few years now..Pretty much of the
basic side of things. I would like to add some flash to my site but
it looks greek to me. Looks really confusing. Anyone here now where I
can find out how to work with flash.

I just want to play with it..Add some animated text and some graphics...

Can't get much simpler than looking here;

I'm in the same boat.

If anyone could recommend a book (a real one, not an e-book) for absolute
beginners that has practical examples, I would appreciate it.

So you've told us a few hours ago in ciwah. Don't multipost, and btw,
the answers you received in ciwah are still valid.

What's wrong with eBooks? It's simple matter to print them out at either
a POD printer or a laser/inkjet.

There are a /lot/ of Flash books around. Why not use a search engine, or
read the reviews at the appropriate bookseller websites <ie> Amazon?
Macromedia, (uno the Flash mother ship) has a list of third party
resources.

I have several on my hard drive, but they're either eBooks or Virtual
Training type of movies (which are the only way to go in terms of
learning), so I won't bother giving you the names, since you don't want
anything other than a deadtree book...

I would have to recomend a book published by Macromedia called Studio MX
2004: Training from the sorce. You have to have a copy of Macromedia MX 2004
to use it, but it gives you a 30 day free trial of the software in the back
of the book on a CD. I purchased my copy at my local Barnes & Nobel. If your
going to learn flash you might as well learn Dreamweaver and Fireworks as
well. I hope you find what you need.
Sincerely,
Nick

Remember, too, that web robots are some of your major customers and that
they can neither navigiate flash nor index it. So be sure that
your site still works for visitors with flash turned off.
