But someone else may configure
their system for maximum efficient use of screen space with a font size
they can just read. There's nothing wrong with a user doing that, if you
code something essential such as navigation < 100% your site can be
impossible to use.
We went round this loop on ciwah a couple of years ago. The general
consensus (with several rebel scum holding onto your viewpoint) seemed
to be that 100% ought to be as I described: the size for comfortable
reading, with smaller fonts still legible.

Obviously, I can't guarantee that the client system has followed that
rule, but I also can't guarantee they've set 100% to be *smaller* than
they can read.

Anyone who does follow the "100% == minimum legible" rule will find that
many real-world websites are unreadable.

I've had nothing but compliments about my sites, although that could be
down to all the disapprovers not being able to read my mail address... ;-)

Thanks for your critique: your points are noted, and some might even be
acted upon... ;-)

Actually, I'm planning a complete redesign soon anyway.

Complete redesign is stupid idea generally, especially if there is no
major problem, or if it is possible to improve old. It is usually much
better to improve old version, unless it is all broken (of course,
latter is often the case). With complete redesign, you might fix some
points, but users need to relearn things, and you propably have just as
many problems as in previous version, just different problems.

For long time I have had habit of when doing review of a site to do
screenful of (negative) comments. With your page, I mentioned some things
that are not much problem...

Ah, I see. I thought you meant that after extensive browsing, you'd been
served some sort of error page ("screen full of problems")!
