Default Order of links for navigation - 02-22-2005 , 01:40 PM

If I'm planning on a left hand navigation (running vertically), what is the
best way, from a usability perspective, to run the links? My thoughts are
that they needs to run where the top link is the content most sought after,
followed by the second most, etc, etc.

Is there a school of thought on this?

Thanks!

I tend to do it alphabetically. IMHO it's a little easier on the eye. Of
course, always include a site map.
