Default No Character Encoding Found! Falling back to UTF-8 ??? - 09-14-2004 , 09:27 AM

Hi all, When validating a page at http://validator.w3.org/ I get this
output:

"No Character Encoding Found! Falling back to UTF-8"

Is this a HTML problem I am creating or something else?

I have used the DOCTYPE strict then tried transitional.

On strict I get the above statement plus 7 errors...with trans I get the

above but no errors. I am confused .....this page has just 4 lines viewable.

I only started with transitional because Homesite+ uses that as a default.

Thanks for your help.
