Default Looking for the right CMS - 02-22-2006 , 05:44 AM

Hi,

I could set-up all famous CMSs as a test and see which ones fit best.
But before that I would like to ask for some hints on which are best in
certain aspects.
It is very important that the backend is easy to use and clear.

The site that needs to be renewed is: www.rallye-magazin.de.

Instead of building a custom CMS from scratch I would rather prefer
using an opensource-CMS.

Thanks for all ideas,
Axel Siebenwirth

I'm trying to answer the same question at the moment. Have you seen
http://www.opensourcecms.com/ ? It has a great deal of information
(though if I'm completely honest it hasn't helped me to produce my own
shortlist yet ...)

With the choice available you would crazy to build your own CMS unless
your needs are either extremely simple or extremely specific. If ease of
use is everything, Website Baker and CMS Made Simple seem to have fans.
I'm however more interested in reliability and security, and I'm not
quite so convinced they score there.
