Default Best Way to Present MP3s on Web Page? - 12-05-2005 , 05:29 PM

I have a client who would like to put MP3 clips of his music on his web
page. I'm wondering what the most reliable method of doing this would
be? Perhaps build the song file into a Flash movie?

Thanks.

Something like the following:

title of the recording (in MP3 format)

Thanks Yucca. Some of the initial recommendations I received suggested
using a link to a m3u file instead of a direct link to the mp3, but it
wasn't working for me. The direct link to the file seems to work,
thanks.

I'm not terribly familiar with delivering various media over the net.
Would there be any advantage to the client having a streaming server?
Would it speed up the delivery of the MP3s?

But wouldn't Flash, with its high ubiquity rate, be a more reliable
means of ensuring that folks are able to play the MP3? As you stated,
the user must have their browser set up to associate m3u files with
their media player, and I wonder how common that is for the average Joe
surfin' the net?
I really would guess that flash is less common thanm3u support. Think of
if someone just ran terminal UNIX with lynx - they'll be stuck fast with
flash. Moreover, you could include, as noted above, a link to each file
if there browser isnt compatible with m3u. As windoze is probably the
most used OS out there and the m3u compatible WMP is shipped with all
versions after 98 then it should have a good audience.

I hope this helps in some way
