1. Submit your website to FREE directories. There are thousands of them
out there, and the result will be a whole lot of free one-way links to
your site. Do a Google search to find them. Or you can go here. I make
it a habit to submit my sites to 2-5 directories a day. It does work.
2. Write articles on topics related to your website. Include a link to
your website in your "about the author" section. Submit them to some of
the hundreds of free article websites around. Results in free one-way
links to your website. Also, depending upon the quality of your article
it should bring some readers to your website looking for more
information. I still get visitors from articles that I wrote/submitted
last year.
3. Search (Google) for forums, blogs, etc. that have discussions in
areas related to your website. Post GOOD, THOUGHTFUL comments with a
signature link to your website. But your posts MUST NOT BE SPAM. You
could be surprised just how many visitors you get from this technique
alone. However, visitors will only come if your posts are worthwhile.
Also results in free one-way links to your website. Hopefully it will
also result in you learning new things from the other people's posts.
4. Search for other QUALITY websites in your topic. Email the webmaster
if they would be interested in a link exchange. Reciprocal links are
thought not to be as good for serps as one-way links, but they are
still worthwhile. Especially if your link partners send you traffic.
