We don't need a "dynamic" document to describe our product. And if we
didn't have to process credit cards, we would just put a PDF out.

help,

Well, you won't have to process mine... :-)

Seriously, your site makes lots of claims about a development tool, but
doesn't really tell me the things I would want to know.

1. What does the source look like? Show me an example, along with a
screenshot of the output.
2. How efficient is it? Time to compile, memory usage, execution
performance, etc.
3. Testimonials from REAL people. OK, the first ones will be your
buddies, but you should get more impressive ones as time goes by.
4. Side-by-side comparison with what I'm using today.
5. Answers to questions like: How do I validate it (whatever 'it' is)
i.e. what debugging facility is there? If it only runs on XP now, will
I have to buy a new version when Longhorn is released? (Of course, I'm
on W98, so I'm not even in the game...) How does it address
accessibility issues?

Of course it's all about US. It's OUR product.
We want our audience to see it as WE see it.
Did DaVanci ask you what color the Mona Lisa should be?

Um, and if I'm using a PDA or a cell phone, how exactly would I do that?
We don't consider a PDA or cell phone an appropriate vehicle for this
advertising.
If we wanted to advertise on a PDA or cell phone, we would DESIGN
artwork
specifically for that device.

Graphic designers do not necessarily make good web designers.
Why not? Because the medium is defective and needs to be fixed.

Here are the stats after 3 days 51 minutes:

Site Visits: 712
Sample Program Downloads: 242
Purchases: 1
Actual, unsolicited user comment: "a minor work of genius"

There is nothing wrong with the medium.
Are you serious? Are you really claiming that there is nothing wrong
with a kluge of incompatible hardware devices, incompatible languages
(HTML, JAVASCRIPT, DHTML, XML, XHTML, CSS) and incompatible standards?

Your preconceived notions of what it should be.
Let's ask the public: Should a graphic designer be allowed to specify
the size, shape, colors, and fonts used in his designs, or not? We're
not talking "[our] preconceived notions" here, we're talking COMMON
SENSE and THE HISTORY OF PUBLISHING.

Yes. We're a small company. We're committed to making it work on
whatever Microsoft's current offering is.
The sample download does, however, include the source code as a text
file.

That's the history of publishing on paper.
I'm going to try one more time, and that's it. We're not talking
"paper" here. We're talking design. Should a car designer be allowed to
choose his shapes and metals? Should a dress designer be allowed to
choose his fabrics and dyes? Should a movie producer be allowed to
choose his settings and costumes? Should a painter be allowed to choose
his canvas size and pigments? Should a web designer be allowed to
choose his colors and fonts?

Gazing into my crystal ball I observed help (AT) osmosian (DOT) com writing in

That's the whole point - it's a product, _not_ art. You want to _sell_ a
product to as many people as possible. This is not something that is going
to gain value in time, in fact, it will depreciate.

Therefore, it is imperative to consider everyone, including those with
smaller screens, non-computer browsers, devices for the disabled, persons
who are not downloading images, etc.
