Why are tables becoming less preferred for layout? |

Hello, Recently (to me anyway) there has been a move to eliminate TABLEs and replace them with DIVs. There have been some posts that ask how to make multi-column layouts without tables, for instance. Why are tables becoming less preferred for layout? |

It is such a relief to see how clean and easy to manage the HTML-code becomes now when using CSS instead! |

"Carving on the side of a mountain" would be similar to: Displaying on a marquee with flashing bright lights Using a billboard along the highway A large newspaper headline ..or by any means that gets maximum exposure. |
