Default Free tools for Accessibility Testing - 07-27-2006 , 12:01 AM

Hi, I'm currently learning few things on Priority 1 guidelines..
I dont have money to spend on tools.

If the tool has a installable version, i would be the happiest person
on this earth.

I would request you to guide me to ANY of the free tools available for
testing the accessibility components of a particulary website. I've
given a website to a 3rd party to redesign for Priority1.. Now i should
test it before going for a Prioity1 certification

Requesting you to give me some pointers on this.

Thanks in advance,

Regds,
Pradeep.S

Of course, there are validators available, I like Cynthia
<http://www.contentquality.com/fulloptions.asp>.

As far as software, IBM has
<http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/adesigner>, which runs a lot of
tests, as well as does visualization for blindness and low vision
simulation. Nice tool.

You can also download a speaking browser, I use Simply Web
<http://www.econointl.com/econointl/sw/>. It's very interesting to
"see" a web page when the monitor is off.
