Yup, like pictures now, probably at the same speed (read: very slow)

Yes, it grabs just a fraction and takes many months to re-index.

Yeah, I am still thinking if I keep allowing it, or put the bot in my
robots.txt :-D.

( BTW, Today I got the Google which shows pics on top :-D )

Yup, I am afraid it will happen, people get bored with running blogs,
and moreover reading blogs :-D.

I already am (bored with blogs, as well as news).

:-D. Yeah I read a lot of news (mainly slashdot) and often wonder: there
was a time I didn't do this, and what did I miss?
Read the headlines at least. You never know what you miss unless you try it.
Our mind has a way of justifying what we do and justifying what we don't
do, although we should (do them). Do you follow my point?

BTW, Thanks for gsuggest.pl which I have just downloaded. Some of the
other scripts no longer work. Let me know if you want to hear about
it...

You're welcome. And yes, I want to hear. I know that the pagerank script
doesn't work anymore. I do my best to upload this week a replacement.

Suggestions / requests etc. are also welcome (I sometimes run out of
small ideas, and get big ones instead which often take too much time)
I'll need to backtrack in my mind in order to recall what I did and what the
outcome was. I wish I had recorded this somewhere.

Yes, the PR script was not working... something with pipe error maybe... odd
one to analyse in an instance...

Google position gave no output I think...

Weird. On my todo list is somewhere: write regression tests for all scripts
(put it there when the page rank one stopped working). I will test the
scripts this week (and maybe write the test script too :-D )

Live bookmarks are very weak in my humble opinion. See:

In Firefox, I cannot get highlights of new items. RSSOwl gives me a similar
interface to that which (in this case) KNode gives UseNet.

Don't forget about the scripts which test the test scripts. *grin*

I read there that browsers will be replaced by RSS. Uhm... I think I
read that some time ago, push technology or something like that :-D.

You mean you can't see the actual text? Yup, in Firefox you only see the
title (head line), which is enough for me. I dropped awasu as a feed
reader, because what firefox does is ok to me. Moreover, since Awasu
uses IE to render.

You showed me that you follow /. using RSS. I showed you that I do too.

No, no... *smile* my point was that I one gets no indication what was read
and what wasn't. There is also no 'new item/s' indication. This is crucial
if you follow many sites or many newsgroups.

:-D, it was late lol. I didn't see it was *your* site. Apologies.

It does, in an odd way, if I click a slashdot link, the link in the Live
bookmark menu gets the favicon :-D. But yeah, it could be done better,
agreed. Also it has uses & instead of & (Hi SEODave) in the menu.

True, I run often my browser the whole day, so the favicons work for me.
But for slow feeds I have to remember which one was last. Two good
points, and I think it just works for me because I just follow 4 or 5
feeds.
