Default Site: search in Google - question - 12-06-2005 , 06:54 AM

Hi

Any comments/advice would be welcomed.

www.alltopbooks.co.uk remains at 703 pages (despite having 1800
products) with a site:url search in G or using yourcache. Previously it
was up to 16700 listed (which is of course impossible, but never
mind)....

The question is: why do you think G has taken to listing only URLs for
most pages? It never used to.

If you do a url sku xxx site for a product it used to turn up the page
in the index. Suspiciously, it now turns up product results only (and
sometimes the same twice - I suspect from both Froogle and Base). has
it taken to showing the pages througg Froogle and not cacheing them?

If so, surely that is totallu useless to me for searches??

regards

Dilip
