I'm trying to make sense of the fact that when I type "Rail jobs" into Google a site with PR=0 comes above my site which for more than 2 years has had a PR=6. |

I'm trying to make sense of the fact that when I type "Rail jobs" into Google a site with PR=0 comes above my site which for more than 2 years has had a PR=6. Additionally, how does a site that has only 2 indexed pages and 0 links get listed above a site with 1,150 indexed pages and 377 links? You have to admit this looks decidedly fishy and I could not get an answer from Google. |

You have to admit this looks decidedly fishy and I could not get an answer from Google. I'm not seeing that. But there's at least two common possibilities. 1. It's a new site; much too recent to have a TBPR, but old enough to have a few good links. Plus it's probably zooming in and out, up and down, as new sites so often do. Be patient! 2. It's a new folder on an existing site (eg wellestablishedjobsite.com/newrailsection/); again, the section is brand new, so has no VISIBLE gpr - but benefits from the strength of it's parent. With more info, there's other possibilities too. -- Andrew Editor http://www.seo2seo.com/ |

These are possibilities, mind, it could just be a big glitch, not unheard of in the land of search. Have you checked it at a DC checker? BB -- http://www.kruse.co.uk/seo-sitemap.htm http://www.here-be-posters.co.uk/art-prints-sitemap.htm http://www.here-be-posters.co.uk/lithographs.htm |

Yes I see what you are saying however this is the site that that is now positioned 3 in the lists http://www.therailgroup.com/railjobsonline.html which links through to these sites: http://www.natrailawards.co.uk/ http://www.greatmagazines.co.uk/stor...re.asp?sid=397 Which have a PR of 3 and 4 respectively - and they go back to this site http://www.greatmagazines.co.uk which has a PR=0. My site is www.railjobsearch.com which has a landing page (and has had for well over 2 years) with a PR=6 and pages behind that with PR=6 and 5. |
