Hi Mark,

I'm *guessing* it's because each time you click on "next page", you're
actually doing a new search and potentially requesting results from a
different set of search data.

SE's generally don't (as far as I know, never) keep search results in
memory - the overheads would be huge - so each page is a new search, with a
different set of result numbers defined. For example, on page two show
results 11 through 20 for the keyword entered. You can see this as the
"start" variable in Google's URL.

I could be wrong about this though.

i think i need to clarify, yesterday it said 1-10 of 18,000,000 today its
1-10 of 9,000,000 (half the number) ive noticed that where there are 18m
results my sites on page 2, when its 9m i'm middle of page 1

Yeah, seen this before, often even. After some time it stabilizes around
the lower (half) number, or at least that is what I have seen so far.

It is definitely problem with the datacenter selection.

KW = calculator

datacenter IP hits

64.233.161.104 41,400,000
64.233.167.104 50,100,000
64.233.171.104 22,600,600
66.102.7.104 50,500,000
66.102.9.104 47,500,000
66.102.11.104 50,300,000
216.239.37.104 41,400,000
216.239.39.104 41,400,000
216.239.53.104 50,500,000
216.239.57.104 31,400,000
216.239.59.104 50,300,000

There is a funny thing - there are two datacenters that my
keywords are twice closer to the top than at any other.
Guess which datacenters
