| Ive noticed that the X (see subject) changes, if its 18,000,000 im on page 2, it its under 10,000,000 im on page 1 ? why dis? |

Hi Mark, I'm *guessing* it's because each time you click on "next page", you're actually doing a new search and potentially requesting results from a different set of search data. |

SE's generally don't (as far as I know, never) keep search results in memory - the overheads would be huge - so each page is a new search, with a different set of result numbers defined. For example, on page two show results 11 through 20 for the keyword entered. You can see this as the "start" variable in Google's URL. I could be wrong about this though. ![]() |

i think i need to clarify, yesterday it said 1-10 of 18,000,000 today its 1-10 of 9,000,000 (half the number) ive noticed that where there are 18m results my sites on page 2, when its 9m i'm middle of page 1 |
