Default serps competition update - 02-12-2004 , 05:07 PM

Update for the competition entries:
http://www.koivi.com/serps-20040212.html

I am thinking that I will have all the programming for a league site
done tomorrow. After that, I will have to go through and try testing for
bugs and stuff, but the site came together quite a bit quicker than I
thought it would. ;D

Entries are checked to see if is found in Google. If so, it doesn't
allow that URL to be used. A webbug is triggered to update search
results and point distribution which should happen every 12 hours on the
updates and point distrib every month - assuming the traffic to the site
is consistant enough. Members will be able to have a public profile page
if they wish. Members can access more of the competition stuff than the
general public just because that's the way I thought it should be.

The way the site is programmed, it can nearly run itself. Should be an
interesting experience.

Google is listing it as "iceishot.com/serps.htm", the entry is
www.iceishot.com/serps.htm - I will adjust my local database for the
update report generation. Also, the results in the update may not be
exact to those on the Google search page because I am using the Google
API, and I do not know if this uses all the same algorithms and servers
or not.

I see, thanks for that bit of information.
I wonder why it doesn't list the www version?

Thanks,
Brian
