Default SERPS competition - 02-04-2004 , 02:42 AM

FINALLY!!!!

It appears Google has given me a bit of a reprieve and entered me back into
the index at position #7.

It took almost a month to see this site in Google. I must have caught them
at a "busy" time of the month :-)

I've just noticed I am no longer at the bottom of the class. Up to #39
today from #197.
Maybe someone linked to me at http://80.71.15.157/serps.htm ?
Best regards, Eric.

Hi Justin,

I am curious as to why my site is not mentioned in your report (it is
currently at #8 at 3:09PM PST).
http://www.serps-search-engine-ranking-pages.com

Perhaps we are being fed two different result sets?

Thank you sir.:-)

There are some nice little "features" that I used on that site to help the
content present itself more appealing to SE's.

Very few in-bound links, just basic SEO.

SEO-Dave was right in that in the long run, good SEO always seems to work
out.

:-))

Oh my, I'm at 6th place, not bad me thinks for a dynamic url with a .de tld lol (http://www.abakus-internet-marketing...g/?itemid=248). Me thinks this
is an example of localrank at work.
Large site, thematic (it's about SEO), I was tempted to put a link in my forum footer which would probably have got me higher but I'm not entered
anyway.

Do I win 5 pounds anyway??? ;-)

We're getting close to the idea I mentioned earlier of crowding
'legitimate' sites out of the Google Top 10. I hope someone hasn't
based his business model on the Serps keyword! I wonder how long it
will take the original sites to respond to the challenge, if ever?

Nope, I just noticed that for the competition you entered:
http://www.serps-search-engine-ranki....com/index.htm

However, google finds it as:
http://www.serps-search-engine-ranking-pages.com/

I will update the database so that next round it'll be in there, sorry.

One thing that I was thinking would be an interesting twist to a
competition league is when choosing the keyword, having the pages
entered provide useful content. That way, we aren't just holding
contests, but are also providing useful information that people may be
able to use.

Granted, doing that would cause less entries per competition because
there may be too much research involved for some people - depending on
the topic/keywords chosen.
