Default Selling links - 07-16-2004 , 03:55 AM

I have been working on a FAQ entry about selling links.

http://www.internet-search-engines-f...ll-links.shtml

The text link brokers which I have identified thus far are:

.. Text Link Brokers
.. Buy Sell Links
.. Link Adage Auctions
.. Text Link Auctions
.. Text Link Ads

Text Link Brokers responded to my inquiry with this e-mail:

Due to an overwhelming response from hundreds of site owners wishing to
sell links we are about 30 days behind in answering inventory partner
inquiries. We are trying to get back to everyone as soon as possible.
Please if you are a PR7, PR8 or PR9 please contact me directly at
margaret (AT) textlinkbrokers (DOT) com & I'll expedite your site.

Best Regards,

Buy Sell Links looks to be the best option. I'm still feeling my around
at this point.

Link Adage Auctions minimum auction fee of $10 would mean that I would
have to bundle links in huge packages, which isn't really what I want to
do.

"PR6 Main Page With 8 PR5 Internal Pages" is currently auctioning
for $10.00/mo.

$10 minus $10 isn't much. ;-)

And yes, you could auction 3 or 6 month blocks, but I'm sort of hoping for
PR to skyrocket any day now. (Don't we all live this way?)

Text Link Auctions has only 11 registered users. This may be because the
registration form is broken. I have notified Text Link Auctions of the
error.

Text Link Ads has not yet responded to my inquiry.

So my question is...

What am I missing?

Where are better places to sell links?

What are better methods to sell links?

Buying links seems wrong to me to get higher page rankings. I don't think it
will be long before all these types of links are discounted by google. A lot
of money will have been wasted.

How will Google tell the difference between a PR buy and straight
advertising?

Feasible yes, probable no. To do this Google would have to program their
algo to discount pages that say sell, sale, link, and links on the page. Can
you estimate how many sites can use these words on a page without actually
selling links? You can sale sponsor link ads, Google does it themselves. It
is highly unlikely that they would set their algo to stop the selling of
links. And I don't see them looking at sites with humans to get every site
that does this.

Just call it "advertising sales" instead of selling links and the
self-righteous here will leave you alone.

And by the way if google eliminates the selling of links it will also
have to eliminate all advertising thus eliminating 90% of the
internet.

Oh yes they could hire college students to scour the internet one page
at a time scanning pages for possible links that ae only there because
they have purchased space.

Nice call.

Tim,

You snipped my response so it looks like I said the above. I agree with you,
you are saying something like I had said.
