Default SearchGuy poised to take business away from Google - 07-04-2004 , 02:27 PM

For any that dont already know, searchguy.com is a new search engine.
Their biz model is just like Google's. I assume it will not hurt
Google very much at first.

If you repeatedly praise searchguy.com, it might start to look like spam
and, since you obviously have no connection with searchguy.com, that would
be unfortunate.

At this time, NOBODY is poised to do anything more than watch as Google
racks up huge profits.

I believe searchguy.com is a publicly traded company under the symbol
SHGY. I think this guy owns some of their stock. Not a bad investment,
but no need to spam IMO

I must find an ironic typeface.

Seems like a very safe assumption. You should get some Google stock too.

A totally worthless search engine and just an unimaginative rip off of
Google. What's even worse they charge to list websites, it is not free
like Google and any search engine that charges to lists sites isn't
worth the time of day for my money.

They have indexed three of my 6,000 pages at no charge --
the same three that were indexed by Alexa, strangely. :-).
Are you sure they are exclusively pay-for-inclusion? Perhaps
they are merely badly engineered.
