Hiya,

This will give some of us heart and hope. It's hard running a web
design firm and offer SEO services and make a profit. You really have
to offer SEO or all your work will go to your competitors. SEO takes so
much time and is so hit-and-miss it is really hard to do it and do it
profitably.

I was checking the latest SEO news and found this ->
http://alicat.newsvine.com/_news/200...orks-doesnt-it

It looks like The Search Works can't do this either. They struggle to
make that profit and offer SEO. The article itself describes why/if
people might still want to buy the company and reference
http://www.realbusiness.co.uk/Defaul...ID=3213&loc=rb for
the stats.

If The Search Works can't get their biz model right then no wonder I
find it hard!

Keeping on top of everything is a never ending learning curve and makes
it difficult in itself. I started out doing SEO as a hobby and before I
knew it I had 8 customers before I even put up an official web site
mentioning that I did SEO work. It all depends upon how you market
yourself and word of mouth I guess.

You're no1 at MSN for 'seo latest news' today.

I am still frustrated at The Search Works news. It's not fair. The
reason why its hard to make good money from SEO is because (in part)
companies like The Search Works have the capital to under cut us.

I see now, and that's exactly why snipping some content one doesn't
respond to is better!

Big Bill!

I can't believe you'd be so aggressive. I'm entirely new to this news
group. I've had a look at the FAQ - which hasn't been updated in months
- it does not mention you nor does it tell me what 'top posting' is.

Why would you think I knew what group etiquette is? Who are you to
snipe group etiquette at me? Why would anyone post here if its
patrolled with such hostility!

For the 1,000,000,000,000 'th time:

Topposting is considered an expression of 'i don't care'.

Not quoting is considered an attitude ala 'piss of i am not concerned
what some one else said'.

Both are not very nice when comming to a group to ask for help. Wink
wink, nock nock...

If you don't know what the f*ck i am talking about, go use google to
find out about:

http://www.google.com/search?q=top+posting
and
http://www.google.com/search?q=quoting+and+usenet

You already seem to know how to use Google so why not use its service in
what it is good at?

If you qoute when you reply you don't need to type the name of the person
you are addressing.

And didn't take time to learn how Usenet works. It's like stepping into a
car, and driving around with what you think could be the rules, annoying
the shit out of others and then act like its *their* fault.

Did you try to use Google or the Wikipedia? What are you doing in a
technical SE related group if you can't even find basic information?

If I go to another country I read about the etiquette in order not to make
an ass of myself. You probably take the UK into your pocket and enforce it
on the local people.

We are only hostile when people jump into our garden and act like they own
the place, uprooting the roses without asking, because they don't care.
