Default search results summaries have disappeared! - 10-05-2006 , 03:51 PM

Is anyone aware of a way to turn on summaries/excerpts/descriptions on
search results? Mine have been turned off somehow. So now all I see in
my search results are the titles of the pages... which as you know are
not always helpful. I've looked all over my search preferences and "my
account" area, but see no setting for this... there also isn't a
show/hide summaries on the result. Where would this be?!

Aside from my really needing help to fix this, this is a good reminder
to use a strong title if you have a website, rather than just relying
on the description...

BTW, I'm using Firefox, if that helps...

Do you have a meta description tag? (Make it different on each page. 1 or
2 sentences only.)

Do you have text on your site, or are the pages all images and/or Flash?

What is the URL?

Do you have
ie?

If so, replace it with

Are you talking about all search results, or just the ones from your Web
site?
