Default SERP reports - 01-20-2005 , 04:53 PM

I have been using web position gold but now I hear that google doesn't want
people to use automated reporting software (nothing new) and they are
banning people (that new?)

Besides manually doing the searches what is the best way to show my clients
how they link. I can afford the time it would I take to do all the searches
manually twice a month at the rates they are willing to pay.

Anyone have some ideas?

Tia,
KD

Ask someone to write a script that mimics your manual searching (see sig).
Fetching the information at a slower rate is one solution. Another is using
the Google API but that one is limit to 1000 queries/day (IIRC).

Unless you intend to run thousands of reports on a daily basis you are
unlikely to get banned for using automated software. Most software uses the
same method that you would use to check the results and cannot be determined
from a heavy user (e.g. corporate network) but simply completes it in a more
efficient manner.

I have ran reports on a number of sites for many years, well over 5 without
any issues what so ever and if you are really worried use a dynamic IP
address.

The main thing is use common sense and don't waste their resources.

Tia,

I've used IBP for some time and never got banned.
