what about flash only sites are they "readable" by spiders ?
what about this quote ?
- first create an HTML site, and then use Flash movies in place of
images,
buttons, and banners
- split your pages up by topic, instead of using one web page, and then
using multiple Flash movies for each page

Where was that from?

think from here

or here

Doesn't sound like it to me.
ANY service that offers submission for a fee is ripping you off, run
away very fast because submission is a waste of time. It' like praying
for the sun to rise every day, you pray and the sun does rise, but it
would have risen without the prayer.

Read this http://www.seo-gold.com/tutorial/ and it will help with the
basics. If you come across a site with significantly contradictory
information it's almost certainly wrong.

Plain tekst in the flash file. It can be done, in a similar way as the
text in a pdf file can be indexed...
But you can't determine what will or won't be indexed or even
understood as text by the engines. There's some wrinkle I can very
vaguely remember from lo-o-o-ng ago... The SDK, I think it is, that
you can use to interpret text in a flash file, or extract text from a
flash file, doesn't necessarily go about this in the same way the
engines do. That's if they bother at all.

I gave up with SEOCHAT ages ago, I don't know where they get their
writers.

That looks a little better, at a glance.

I am not sure about that one, I mean, I have no idea what's stored as
readable text.

Yup, Macromedia released the SDK so everybody could extract the info the
same way.

IIRC they started some time ago to do so, but look how far it has become
by now.

It either isn't that easy, or of very less priority by the search
engines. So, for now, for a searchengine, there aint that much to see.

John
check your site for this sentences....How many unique visitors you get a
day??? 10.000 or 10 ?

For example, this very site receives over 10,000 visitors every day. That's
right, visitors, not hits. On average that is about 10 visitors per page
every day. Some of the top pages get each hundreds of visitors every day.

I get 10,000/day on my site.

On average that is 10 per page (when I wrote that I had 1,000 pages, so
10,000 visitors / 1,000 pages = 10)

English is not my native language, so any advice on how to improve the
above is welcome. But I thought it was clear :-)

Yes, sorry I wrote it without checking the math properly (didn't read 10
visitors per PAGE every day)
