Default SEO help - 01-13-2006 , 09:12 AM

Hi,

Im currently in the process of setting up a web development company in
Leeds, west yorkshire called Welford Media Ltd, www.welfordmedia.co.uk

Im having trouble with getting decent rankings in search engines, for
the keywords "leeds web design" and "yorkshire web design". I was
hoping that some of you kind people could give me a few pointers. I
know the basic stuff and although we have a company lined up for any of
our clients that want SEO, I was wondering whether anyone out there
could do the job but at a cheaper price or whether you could recommend
a proven company.

Anyway our old site is cached in google, but not yahoo, and our old
site was build for leicester not Leeds could this be the problem and
how long do you reckon it takes google to update their cache of our
site.

Cheers
Lenny

Hey Lenny

Here's a couple of the more obvious things to do.

- Get your primary keyphrase in the Title tag
- Get more keyphrases in all the pages, I see them in there but in a mild density
- Develop a more keyphrase rich Text internal linking structure
- Get more BackLinks, the ones you have are of low value and from the same place
- Google find Results 1 - 6 of about 11 pages, need more pages all linking to the cover ( entrance ) to show importance
- On your Portfolio page, there is good content when you click your client's link, but unfortunately the crawler will have difficulty navigating to the good content because of the Javascripting, try to figure out a way to present this content perhaps in additional pages

That should get you started in the right direction

Regards

Fred

One of my favorite suggestions is make sure your HTML is good! Right off
there is a problem, like using height="3px", it should be height="3". While
this probably won't affect your search engine rankings, it should still be
fixed, and there may be other issues that would affect it.
