Like probably a lot of other people here I need a way that I can strip
out my web page and gather all the outgoing links. I wrote something
in php but it's kind of buggy. |
PHP sucks for stuff like this.

Then I need something that can go to
that url and report back if that site is linking back to me.
Are there any open source or off the shelf products that work good?
What does everyone else use? |
I can write something like that for you in Perl. If you know a bit of
Perl, there are modules that extract links, parse HTML etc:
HTML::LinkExtor <
http://search.cpan.org/~podmaster/HTML-LinkExtractor-
0.13/LinkExtractor.pm>
HTML::Parse, HTML::TreeBuilder, etc.

I looked at some but you never know if they really work. I would
appreciate hearing your experiences with programs like this or any
tips you have, |
If you don't find anything you might consider hiring me to write a Perl
script that does it :-D.
