I noticedthat a large percentage of my visitors to my home page come
to it, and leave. I would like to know why. Are there any tools and
tricks to find that out? thanks |
You should be happy that they do ... most of your visitors are probably
spambots and phishing for emails servers ... do you really what them to
stick around?
If you're looking for visit longevity and increased pageviews, you need to
give folks something worth looking at. If they have to look too hard for
things, they just close the tab and open the next search result. That
makes me sad when I see that referrers are sending folks rightly to my site
and that thier quest is at the end of my rainbow. But peoples are stupid
and you have to practically shove things under thier noses. Right?
My solution: make your website one big treasure hunt. People stay and play
and come back for more.
Study your server logs with interest but not obsession. They'll help you
set things right in the long run but lose thier usefulness when you know
where you stand.
