Mike,

If you think about it, any decent software that is used in the
sort of capacity that WPG or AWR should be updated every so
often.

In the last few weeks Directhit has disappeared. Teoma has come
online, Looksmart has gone down the Small Business Listing route,
how else do you suggest they keep the product up to date if not
via download ? or would you prefer to have a hopelessly out of
date version of software and then complain that all of the links
to submissions sites don't work ?

A while back the guys from Add Web releeased version 5 of their
software and there were a whole bunch of people bitching because
they had Verson 3 and it was lousy. The product was never lousy,
but if you don't have the latest version your missing out on the
most up to date news.

Oh and one other thing, Agent Webranking is free, I don't see you
giving up much free stuff here other than uncalled for criticism.

They update the silly beta every 3 weeks or so, pisses me off. If I knew they (the
agentwebranking) people was going to update the silly beta every month I would have
stuck with the old version. It seems everytime I use the product (about once a
month) I have to wait for the silly download. The old version wasn't as good as the
betas I suppose, but it was adequate. So (agentwebranking people) give me a version
that won't change anymore, this silly downloading is pissing me off.

I know I'll end up upgrading, I just want to be sure the beta is
stable.

Anyone tried it out yet?

I've had a lot of succes with WebPosition Gold 1.6. I don't know whether to
buy the upgrade to 2.0 yet either. There are a lot of bells and whistles to
the new version, but how effective is it really? It may be too early to
tell.

AWR is not free that I can tell, but they do have a 15 day trial. Their
regular package is one of the most expensive out there but I believe it to
be the best for the professional.
